Job description
Responsibilities of a data privacy professional would be but not limited to:
- To create and update security & privacy policies, procedure, good practices and notices across functions and business units.
- To proactively partner with functional groups/ Business Units to ensure that the adoption of new technologies, processes, services and solutions are compliant with the applicable data privacy regulations.
- To collaborate in the formulation of policies related to the collection and processing of personally identifiable information, based on the Privacy & Data Protection Laws of the countries.
- To conduct or assist in performing employee awareness sessions and educate them on privacy.
- To conduct or assist in performing Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) and Data Privacy Impact Assessment (DPIA)
- To assess applications, vendors, infrastructure, cloud services and processes for compliance as per security and privacy requirement.
- To provide remediation recommendations including technical solutions regarding the gaps identified.
- To help with the development of data classification guidelines.
- To understand the business, to analyse the data life cycle and accordingly create data flow maps.
- To assist in the process of identification and creation of inventory of sensitive information that is being stored, processed, or transmitted internally and to a variety of audiences, including customers, vendors, employees, etc.
- Identify risks, plan and implement the risk mitigation plans.
- Review and respond to privacy-related sections in the RFI/RFQ/MSA from clients and collaborate in the feasibility study of privacy-related requirements/clauses of the prospect, in the pre-contract sign-off stage.
- Assess subcontracting/outsourcing of any processing of personally identifiable information and recommend privacy-related controls (including the inclusion of appropriate clauses in the vendor contract.
Primary Skills
- Experience and Knowledge of Data privacy laws and regulations (GDPR, CCPA, DPDP, PDPL etc).
Secondary Skills
- Experience into any Data Privacy tool (One Trust, BigID, Collibra, etc)
Preferred Certification
- Certified Information Privacy Technologist/ DSCI Certified Privacy Lead Assessor/ CIPT/ CIPP/
DCPLA/ CDPSE
Education
- UG: B.Tech. /B.E. / BSc. in Computer Science & Engineering / IT from a reputed institute
